Yes, another northcore strike.
Lebensreform (also "X Lebensreform X", they were sxe) from Hamburg was alive between 1996 and 1998. Guitarist Mark and drummer Christian were from the band Better tooth organisation; their first bassist Niells would later be the singer of Linsay. In 1997 he was replaced with Dennis, guitarist of Loxiran.
They created an agressive mix of chaotiv hardcore-punk and screamo.

Akephal - Selftitled (CD)

Now here's the discography cd of the German hardcore band Akephal, released by Narshardaa Records in 2008. Songs 1-7 taken from the "selftitled"12inch, song 8 from the "Wo die wilden Kerle wohnen"7inch-compilation and the songs 9-13 are previously unreleased! The 4 songs from the "Kopflos"7inch are not contained.
13 songs of brutal new-school-hardcore, comparable to other German so-called "northcore"bands, like Acme, Loxiran, Lebensreform, ... (I even wrote down the lyrics. The English translations were also in the booklet, but for writing them down too, I was too lazy..)

November 13th - 2008 (12'')

November 13th is a German crust/punk/hc band based in Hanover. Some words about their music from themselves: "Our music is a kind of reflection to our sorrow, our anger and our fears. We are three dissatisfied kids who hate this system. We're pissed, we're angry, we don't feel like homophobic idiots, sexists and racists. We're annoyed by the powerlessness to change things. We're annoyed by the stupidity and dullness of the most people in society. We're annoyed by the things how they are." Meanwhile they only got German lyrics on the new lp. In the past they also wrote some English songs. I like the German songs better but maybe that's because I'm German ;) However, it's damn great music! And props go out to my regular blog-visitor "hier D:" for giving me this release!
